| Frequently Asked Questions |
Does it cost more to book through Reel Job Fishing rather than directly through a lodge? No. You’ll be quoted the same price as if you booked directly with the lodge. And because we’ve fished there ourselves, and in some cases even guided there, our knowledge of the fishing and travel logistics will prove invaluable for your trip preparation. Furthermore, since we’ve partnered with FishQuest, an industry leader in sportfishing adventure travel, you’ll find yourself treated with the highest level of customer service and professionalism. How do I begin the process of booking a trip? After you’ve zeroed in on a particular destination, we welcome you to call or email Capt. Kent Klewein at Reel Job Fishing for your free trip consultation. After your consultation has been completed and space availability has been confirmed at the lodge we’ll simply ask you to make a 50% deposit through FishQuest to reserve your spot and begin the trip preparation process. On receipt of your reservation deposit, FishQuest will mail you a package with pre-departure information, packing suggestions, travel insurance forms, as well as general information on visas, health precautions, etc. You can also visit their online store to find a variety of tackle and travel gear suited to your trip. Your final deposit will be due 90 days prior to your departure. What are the advantages of booking a spot on a hosted trip? There are actually many advantages. Below are just a few reasons:
Will the lodges provide fishing gear? This depends where you’ll be traveling. For example, if your destination is Alaska, chances are you won’t need to bring any gear. However, don’t expect the gear to be brand new out of the box. Because of this, we usually recommend clients bringing some fishing equipment to be on the safe side. On the other hand, there are some saltwater destinations that require anglers to bring all of their gear. We’ll make sure you’re provided with a suggested packing list prior to your trip departure. |
