FISHING PROGRAMFish for Trophy Northern Pike and Walleye on Silsby and High Hill Lakes. After breakfast each day your guide will be ready for a full day of fishing. At lunch time a shore lunch will be prepared by our staff or your guide. After a complete afternoon of trophy pike fishing you will return to the lodge for dinner. SEASONLate May to September. Ice out on the lake typically occurs in the middle of May, coinciding with the opening of the lodge. This is usually the time when anglers target the trophy pike marauding the shallow bays, which are warming for the early summer sunlight. Please call us to confirm space availability or to request specific dates GETTING THEREYou fly from your home city to Winnipeg where you will transfer to your flight to Thompson and then overnight. The next morning you will fly on to Silsby Lake lodge. CAPACITYThe lodge accommodates up to 16 anglers ACCOMMODATIONSThe accommodations provide all the comforts of home but they are rustic enough to maintain the feeling of being in the remote Canadian bush! There are 5 fully insulated log-sided cabins and all have screened in verandahs. Heat is provided by thermostatically controlled wood stoves. All wood is delivered to your cabin and on those chilly days the staff will start the stove so you can come home to a warm cabin. All cabins have carpeted floor, and sitting room for your comfort. All bathrooms are private with flush toilets, sinks and hot showers. The cabins have separate bedrooms with 2 beds in each. All bedding is provided for you. Each day the house keeper will come in and clean your cabin while you are out fishing. The main lodge building houses the dining room, lounge area and a screened in verandah with gorgeous views of Silsby Lake. At night, the guests enjoy sitting in the lounge or on the verandah, watching a ball game or playing cards. For your convenience, there is also an ice machine and a well stocked commissionary with snacks, cigars, alcohol and soft drinks. In addition, a small selection of fishing tackle is available for purchase. Satellite phone is also available. MEALS
Even though Silsby Lake Lodge practices catch-and-release fishing, just enough fish are kept from the morning's catch to enjoy a shore lunch of fresh fish cooked over an open fire.
