December 2008 North Georgia Fly Fishing Reports for Toccoa River, Noontootla Creek Farms, and Lake Blue Ridge
Georgia Fishing Report & ForecastOctober 2008Toccoa River (tailwater)The Toccoa River is running clear and cold and we're catching lots of trout. Traffic on the river is starting to lighten up and the fishing has responded positively from this. BWO's are becoming more and more important on the river. Nice fish have been taken on top. Cloudy days have been the best for numbers of bugs on the water. As usual the finesse flies have been the best producers. However, we have done very well targeting beig trout with streamers and large nymphs. December over the years has accounted for many of our largest trout. So don't get stuck with cabin fever. Layer up and give us a call so we can put you on the trrout. Private Water (Noontootla Creek)Noontootla Creek Farms is running clear and cold. The fish are sporting brilliant colors and are becoming more active now that they're geting acclimated to the colder weather. Stonefly and small nymphs have been big producers lately on the stream. We've spotted some very large brown trout in the stream and are hoping to bring one to the net very soon. If your looking at tackling these giants give us a call and we'll be happy to guide you to the trophy of a lifetime. Lake Blue RidgeLake Blue Ridge water temperatures are currently in the low 50s. The lake is fishing great right now and we're bringing large numbers to the boat. The key is locating the bass and bait. Once you've done that hold on because your going to get your rod bent over. Throwing tubes and drop shotting has been the big producers. Crankbaits have been picking up fish has well. If your lucky you can also get into some topwater action in the mornings. This is the time to catch the lunker. Give us a call and we'll put you on the fish. |
