El Salto Lake, Mexico

El Salto Lake

5 Days/ 4 Nights/ 3 Days Fishing – From $2,050

Trophy Bass Paradise

With the scenic Sierra Madre mountain range providing a majestic background, Lake El Salto will let you soak in the Mexican bass fishing experience and relish what just might be the best trophy lake in all of Mexico. Located in the state of Sinaloa about 90 minutes from the port city of Matzatlan, Lake El Salto was created in 1986 with the damming of the Elota River. The result is a remote 20,000 acre reservoir that may even lay claim to being the best trophy lake in the world. Over 3,000 bass over nine pounds were caught and released in 2004.

FISHING PROGRAM

You'll fish two to a boat, accompanied by an experienced local guide. The number of fish landed will be determined by the skill level of the angler, but it is safe to say that even the novice angler will be delighted with the fast and furious action on Lake El Salto. Topwater baits work well early and late in the day and during cloud cover. Anglers proficient at working spinnerbaits around shallow cover will really enjoy this lake. It is also a worm angler’s heaven. Large, deep running crankbaits target larger bass.

Fly fishing also available October - December 2007.
