Capt. Joel Dickey’s all around angling knowledge locked him in as one of our fly fishing disciples featured guides. If you’re itching to chase the big three on the flats of the Florida Keys we strongly urge you to contact Joel. I make sure to clear a week on my calendar each year with Joel and I haven’t made a trip yet that didn’t exceed my expectations. Joel is a force to be reckoned with on the flats and his skills have been noted by many of the fly fishing industry leaders. If Thomas & Thomas fly rod company fully sponsors him you know he’s the real deal. Did I mention his saltwater fly patterns are some of the best I’ve ever seen? Remember to book well in advance if you plan on having the opportunity to fish with Joel. Capt. Kent Klewein
Guide Profile:
As my experience grew in fly fishing I wanted to pursue other challenges in the industry and the world of guided fly fishing. So in 2002 I met Captain Bruce Chard and started fly fishing in the Florida Keys. As we hunted the gin clear waters of the Keys and I hooked my first tarpon I knew my life had changed. At that moment I knew these were the beasts I wanted to guide for! So I moved my business from North Georgia to the Florida Keys the next year! I spent countless days on the flats sharpening my skills for when I would start guiding for these spectacular creatures. With help from some of the best known guides in the Florida Keys I have become one of the top upstarts in the area. I now fish clients in the Keys over a 150 days a year helping them to catch the trophy of a lifetime. Enough about me let’s fish.
