I met Capt. Dave Wiley a few years back through a mutual guide buddy and we spent the day chasing monster trout with mouse patterns in North Georgia. That day proved you didn’t have to be in Alaska or Kamchatka, Russia to hook trout on a mouse. Since then Capt. Dave Wiley has run Outcast Charters as a flats guide in the Florida Keys for over 20 years. So I’d say it’s safe to say you can’t go wrong booking him for your next saltwater adventure. He’s an extremely competent guide and his booked up calendar further tells the tale. This captain knows his stuff and poles with a laid back astute guiding style you’ll enjoy. Whether you prefer light tackle spinning gear or a fly rod in your hand Dave will get the job done for you. Capt. Kent Klewein
Guide Profile:
Stalking the gin clear skinny water flats of Key West & the Florida Keys for “the big three” has been my passion since relocating to the Keys in 1983. The first three years I spent learning to navigate the myriads of shallow channels and cuts which dissect the backcountry flats. All the while I constantly studied the habits and movements of the tarpon, bonefish, and permit. The saltwater species we go after here in the Keys present a high degree of challenge to the fly fishing enthusiast and just like most things in life high risk equals high reward – the payoff is huge! I offer experience, knowledge, and a salty maturity for the seasoned angler and for the novice copious quantities of patience.
