Tropical Light-Tackle Treat
The virtually undiscovered Placencia Peninsula in southern Belize is
a haven for some of the world’s best light-tackle saltwater fishing.
The flats off Ranguana, Lime and Sapodilla Cayes harbor a year-round
abundance of 10-30 pound permit. Add trophy tarpon and some of the
Caribbean’s best bonefishing and you’ve got yourself a Placencia grand
slam. But there’s plenty more! Just a 45-minute boat ride away, in the
blue water lying off the Belizean Reef, tuna, mackerel, snapper,
grouper, barracuda and jack crevalle will keep you in reel ecstasy.
