Parksville Lake Fall Fishing

Posted By on October 11, 2010

Last weeks cool weather has the water temp down to 69 degrees, thats an awesome start for some fantastic fall bass fishing in the mountains. In the next two weeks the trees will be changing, and putting the beautiful colors throughout the mountains. What better way to spend a day or a weekend then on the lake fishing. Here are some pictures from a trip over the weekend at Parksville with John and Rosita.

  1. Just wondering how the trout fishing is on the Taccoa around Blue Ridge in November. May be planning a trip up there mid November…wondering what types of flies to bring with. Any information would be helpful from someone who knows the area as well as you obviously do.

  2. Paul,

I’d wait to plan your fishing trip on the Toccoa until we hear from the GA DNR on their shocking survey later this month. I’ve heard some reports of possible trout in the Toccoa but I won’t be floating the river until next week. I’ll have a better report on what condition the river is in at that time. For now I’d probably be planning a Plan B trip to the following rivers. Hiawassee River, Nantahala River (DH Section), or the Tuckaseegee River which all will have plenty of numbers of freshly stocked trout to catch. Plan on packing mostly small streamers, lots of bead head nymphs and soft-hackles and your pink san juan worms and egg patterns. They shouldn’t be too picky at these locations.
