Big Fall Bass with RJF

Posted By on October 4, 2010

October’s here along with the cooler temperatures and changing leaves. The arrival of the fall season brings us big bass on our lakes every year. Once we get through our first couple of cold fronts at the beginning of October, conditions on the lakes will stabilize and the bass fishing will get hot really quick.

Reel Job fishing guide, Eric Welch, has been primarily fishing Carters Lake, Parksville Lake, and Lake Chatuge. They’ve been the most consistent lakes and are producing some really nice bass. Other lakes like Blue Ridge and Chickamuaga have been hit or miss the last few weeks. As noted above though, once conditions stabilize these lakes should really turn on.

For this post I’ll break down lake conditions and fishing tactics on Carters Lake brought to you by Eric Welch.

Carters Lake is down around three and a half feet with water temperatures at seventy-six degrees. Main lake points and humps should be the targeted structure for good concentrations of bass. Fish-head spins and drop-shotting finesse worms have been the best producers. The bigger fish have come on the Fish-head spins. Look for bass fishing to get better and better as the month moves on.

Fish-Head Spins and Drop-Shot are the ticket lately on Carters Lake.

Reel Job Fishing’s professional guide staff is ready to show you the ropes on our home lakes. Let us provide you with an enjoyable and instructional day of guided bass fishing. For more information please see our contact information below.

  1. Water temps are cooling down,The best fishing is just a cast away. These nice cool nights and mornings are going to get the fish bunching up and chasing bait. Book trips now for some awesome mountain lake bass fishing and land some toads like the pictures above.
