Here at Reel Job Fishing, we strive each and every day to bring our fishing clients the highest level of professional guiding on the water. But what really sets us apart from our competitors is that we give back when we can to our supporters. This week we’ll again be running a special on full day bass fishing trips for $325. That’s a fifty dollar savings and we hope many of you take advantage of the offer.  This special will run for the next seven days. We recommend booking a day of fishing on Lake Chickamauga.

Bass Tip of the Week – By: Eric Welch

Most anglers in the summer like to power fish like they do in the spring and fall. Although you can have some success in the summer early in the morning or late in the evening, and on windy days, you’ll often find you’ll have much better success slowing down and fishing more methodically. I’ve found in the heat of the summer, especially when it’s in the heat of the day and dead calm, your better off slowing down, and fishing like you would in the dead of the winter. I’ll pick up my dropshot rig with 5lb test line and start out with a 6″ robo worm. If that doesn’t work a lot of the time I’ll downsize to a 4″ robo worm, working it slow.

Also a lot of anglers think in the summer you have to fish shallow and close to the banks. That’s not the case, for example, I’ll keep my boat in 30′ to 45′ of water and catch many of my fish in the 25′ to 30′ depth. During the summer bass have a rough life. They’re always dealing with heavy boat and jet ski traffic, and weather fronts are constantly changing with storms rolling in and out. This really messes with the barometer and can cause bass to develop lock jaw. Next time you hit the lake this summer give some of these tips a try and see if you don’t put more fish in the livewell. Check back soon for more bass fishing tips. We’ll do our best when we have time to keep posting new fishing tips.

Eric Welch takes 1st Place at Lake Hiawassee & Blue Ridge Tournaments

Give Eric Welch a call and if he’s not on the water guiding you’ll probably get the answer, “I’m heading to the lake for the evening tournament”. We’re really proud of how well he’s been doing lately competing, and even more proud of how important he finds it to spend as much time on the water as possible. Time on the water translates into great guide trips, and you can rest assured that if you hire Eric for a bass trip, he’ll know exactly what the current fishing conditions are on the lake he’ll be guiding you on.

Welch Family hits Lake Chickamauga

Eric Welch, wife, and daughter fished Lake Chickamauga yesterday for a day of family bass fishing. They fished for about four hours and landed around thirty bass. Thunderstorms cut the day short, but the the time they spent fishing was very successful.

Check out Photos below of some of their catches.
