3-Hour Smallmouth Tour

Posted By on February 18, 2011

Eric Welch and I headed out this morning for a quick three hour tour on Lake Blue Ridge. We had the lake to ourselves, which rocked, and we even broke out a fly rod for a change. We boated eight bass with a mixed bag of smallmouth and spotted bass. Two of the smallmouth bass would have pushed four pounds if they had full stomachs. For some reason a lot of the smallmouth we’re catching lately on Lake Blue Ridge are slim and trim. We would have stayed out there longer but my wife was texting me stuff like “Contractions 10 minutes apart, get ready”.
