October Fishing

Despite the crazy weather we’ve been having the past couple of weeks, with all the fronts coming and going. The fishing has stayed good on all the mountain lakes. I’ve been catching fish on jerkbaits, dropshot and shakey head. Also first thing in the morning we’ve been catching some on top water throwing Sammy’s., Zarra Spooks, and Sebile swim baits.
Nantahala lake has been our lake for numbers, I’ve been catching alot of largemouth and smallmouth bass. Mostly throwing jerk baits and dropshot. If your a avid lake fisherman, your looking at 30 to 50 fish in a 8hr day.
Bass In Grass, Most everyone has watched fishing shows and seen anglers throwing top water frogs in the grass, you mostly think of Flordia. Guess what: we can do it all day long on Lake Chickamauga, you don’t have to travel to Flordia. I’ve been catching largemouths in the grass on Strike King KVD frogs, SPRO Frogs and Reaction Innovations Trixie Shark. There is nothing like throwing a frog on top of the matted grass and pop it 2 or 3 times and out of no where a 5lb largemouth explodes through the grass inhaling your lure, It will make you come out of your shoes. So give us a call and try your luck at a little frog action.
