We Always Keep it Reel

Posted By on August 3, 2011

We always keep it reel with what’s going on with the fishing in our area. If conditions are tough we’ll be the first one’s to tell you. Right now it’s August and with water levels low and water temperatures high, fishing as usual this month, has become pretty tough. We’re still catching fish but we’re having to work harder for each bite.

Your best option at the present moment is guided lake trips where the fishing is more consistent. Lake Chickamauga for example, fishes good throughout August. We highly recommend lake trips until water levels improve and air temperatures drop. Noontootla Creek Farms is only running half day trips right now. We expect to close the stream down for a couple weeks started mid August to give the fish a break and a chance to recuperate for September and the fall fishing. The Toccoa River is fishing ok but every day is different. For the most part the best fishing is early and late in the day. We’re recommending half day floats at the moment.

Keep it Reel,

  2. Kent, really enjoy the updates. Still hoping to hook-up and float the Toccoa with you this fall. Appreciate the honest fishing posts. Also enjoy the Gink. Keep it coming.
