Happy New Year from RJF

Happy New Year everyone from the Reel Job Fishing staff. What a crazy past week with all the snow in North Georgia. With most of the area getting blanketed with between 9-12″ of snow and reports of up to 17″ in the Cohutta Mountains we decided to keep our fishing rods stowed away and spent much needed time with our families. Boat ramps and launches were iced up good, which made it unsafe to get on the water. With my wife almost eight months pregnant as well, I made the safe decision to head south for a few extra days where the roads were in much better condition in case we had to make a trip the doctor.
The good soaking rain we received the other day has melted away all the snow and water levels are at perfect levels. The fishing really has picked up on our home waters. You really can’t go wrong booking a float trip on the Toccoa River, a wading trip at Noontootla Creek Farms or a guided lake trip for some big bass right now. We’re all rejuvenated from the holiday break and ready to hit the water with our clients. What can we say, fishing is great right now.
This time every year no matter how good the fishing is we find trip numbers down. The colder months have a tendency for anglers to hold off for warmer months. If you’ve fished with us in the past I’m sure you’ve heard us talk about how great winter fishing can be, and that we net lots of big fish. Give us a call and take advantage of low numbers of fisherman on the water and the great fishing. There’s nothing better than catching lots of fish with no one else on the water.
Keep it Reel,
