Great Day on Toccoa River
Posted By Kent Klewein on June 9, 2010
Just got back from my donation float trip to Cohutta Fishing Company’s grand opening with lucky anglers Kenneth & Don Barnett. We really whacked them today, catching bows and browns on dries and nymphs all day long. The last fish of the day was a 18-19″ female brown trout that gave us a serious fight on 6x tippet. Sorry for the so-so photograph. We had a nasty thunderstorm roll in as we snapped a quick photo and we had to get off the river in a hurry. It took some serious editing just to get the photo bright enough to see. And yes, Kenneth is a big tall dude, but as you guys know I always measure accurately. It’s a pet peeve of mine to state inaccurate measurements.
Sulphurs started to pour off around 12:30pm and the trout started rising like crazy. Too bad the hatch was short lived, once the clouds covered up the sun and it started down pouring.
Looking forward to getting back on the Toccoa River again soon. It’s days like this that keep me fired up.

Last one I caught was like 37 inches, and I almost always measure kinda accurate… well sometimes almost always.
Are you measured in inches and not in centimeters? a lot of people make that mistake after a long fight with a fish?
You two both know what I”m talking about
. Hope all is well with both of you and thanks for chiming in on the blog.
