Father & Son Trip ends with Trophy Trout

Posted By on August 10, 2011

Chip Smith and Son Carter fished a half day with me yesterday at Noontootla Creek Farms. Conditions were tough, but working as a team and fishing hard ended up paying off big time for us. Below is a rainbow trout that we taped at 24 1/2″. This was Carter’s first trout on a fly rod, which was pretty unbelievable, especially this time of year.

The end of this week we will be closing NCF do to high water temperatures. We don’t want to risk messing up the great fall fishing and we feel the fish could use a welcome break. I’ll also be heading out of town next week for the IFTD Fly Fishing show in New Orleans. You can still book bass fishing trips with Eric Welch. He’s currently staying very busy right now putting clients on good numbers of bass. Your also more than welcome to call me if you’re planning a guide trip for later in August or further out. I’ll be happy to take reservations.
