February Bass Fishing

Posted By Kent Klewein on February 8, 2010

The one good thing about lake fishing is rainfall doesn’t usually ruin the fishing like it can when we’re blown out trout fishing.  Below are some pictures from a recent bass trip on Lake Hiawassee by Eric Welch.

A few days ago Eric and Mike hooked up with 18 bass and landed 14 using float N’ fly and plastics.  Lake Hiawassee has been very consistent  for us lately and should be a lake on your radar if your wanting to get into some quality smallmouth and spotted bass.  This lake is loaded with food and all the bass we catch have full stomachs.  The limitless boulders and rock out-croppings that line the banks of this lake offer prime habitat for our favorite warmwater game fish, the Smallmouth Bass.  If you have not fished Lake Hiawassee we highly recommend giving us a call to show you around.

We’ve had some trout trips we’ve had to move around recently due to the heavy rainfall we’ve received, but it looks like we’ll be busy this week on the river later this week.

Keep it Reel,
